Where lived experience
becomes lasting evidence.
The Pregnancy Evidence Project ties together millions of real pregnancy experiences to give moms better answers.
Takes minutes. Helps thousands.
Together, we can
close the gaps in
pregnancy research.
The Pregnancy Evidence Project was established for moms who are as frustrated as we are about the lack of answers in pregnancy - the “just avoid it to be safe, there’s no good data” advice.
Why is this still our best answer?
It’s not that the data truly doesn’t exist: millions of women are pregnant and give birth each year -- each making thousands of individual decisions about medications, diet, exercise, lifestyle choices and beyond.
Whether it’s using melatonin for sleep, or choosing to continue an antidepressant medication - we know anecdotally that thousands of women every year make each choice.
It’s just that today, we’re not effectively capturing or learning from these experiences - we’re stuck in the cycle of under-inclusion of women in clinical research, perpetuating the need to make these choices based on guesswork rather than solid evidence.

Why join?
01
There are real gaps that need filling.
Women weren’t required in clinical trials in the US until 1993, and pregnancy research has lagged even further behind.
As a result? Moms get incomplete answers at best, and contradictory or misinformed answers at worst. We’re decades behind - and the gap isn’t closing itself.
02
Your experience is uniquely valuable.
Pregnancy looks different for every mom — the data behind it should too.
By joining, you can actually do something about it. There’s no better way to close the research gaps than with the varied, representative experiences of that already exist in the real world.
03
Future moms get better answers.
Every experience shared builds on what we know about pregnancy health - so the next mom panic-searching at 2am can finally get information backed by robust data and research.
Sharing takes minutes, but the impact lasts decades, and helps finally get millions of moms the clear, honest answers we deserve.
How does it work?
Confirm eligibility and enroll
A short enrollment and informed consent process will show you what you’ll be asked to share, how your information will be protected and kept private, how researchers may use the de-identified information, and confirm your eligibility to participate.
Share your experience
A baseline questionnaire captures the basics of your pregnancy and health history.
Brief questionnaires during each week of your pregnancy help researchers understand your pregnancy, and take less than 5 minutes per week to complete.
Shape maternal health
Your contributions make a real difference - weaving in your experiences and outcomes with those of thousands of other women, and enabling hundreds of new research insights that will shape the future of maternal care.
